The ability to be a stealthed summoner is quite attractive and it would be nice to be able to do that without resorting to playing a Vamp or dragging around a healer just for summoning. It would be nice for non-Vamps (either Rogues /Mages or all characters) to have the slow Belgosch summon available. If not, maybe the Belgosch summon could be turned OFF on non-Lore severs to remove what is yet another powerful Vamp racial ability.

I have always felt that "getting around" in Shadowbane was too much of a struggle if you were running solo. The new Runemaster "teleport to city" helps getting around a lot but there are times and places you can't get to that way. So the following suggestions are based on making MY life easier, I'm not really sure if they would make the game "better" but I would love to seem them -
1) Add "Send to nearest Runegate" to all Runemasters. This at least guarantees all players easy access to ROC and Oblivion.
2) Add scrolls of Open Fire/Water/ect Gate to allow (with #1) all characters access to the entire gate system.
[#1 & #2 could be accomplished by opening Traveller up to all characters who are willing to sacrifice a rune slot to gain better mobility. ]
3) Add the Summon power from Belgosch to Traveller. The summon power could be limited to just Rogues/Mages if is was desirable to keep the Belgosch limit on non-fighter summons in place.
If you added all these changes you would open up travel a lot, especially for solo characters. Doing #1 & #2 given all characters access to the gate system but reduces the need for the Traveller rune. Opening Traveller up to all classes does the same but at the cost of a rune slot for a character which would still encourage botting. If #1 & #2 (scrolls) were implemented and Traveller with Summon were opened to all characters, all players would have access to the gate system without using a rune, and the value of the Traveller rune would be maintained by allowing any character (or just Rogues/Mages) to become (slow) summoner.
Of course, players already rejected the idea of summon scrolls in the past so #3 is probably not a likely change, I just throw it out since that is one common reason given for dragging a bot around.

Mage bases get recall to gate, and a couple get recall group to gate.
Adding a summoner power, isn't needed for Traveler.

Getting around is pretty easy. When I'm solo I usually box a portal-trained, summon-bot for:
1. getting to the places that I need to get to fast, and;
2. evac'ing and making faces red irl if I get in over my head

Getting around is pretty easy. When I'm solo I usually box a portal-trained, summon-bot for:This was exactly my point, getting around is much easier with Traveler but not all character can take one so we drag around a 2nd character just for getting places and bringing in friends if we find so interesting action.
My suggestions were a collection of idea to reduce the need for the Traveler bot. (I thought I posted it in the buff-bot thread but it stands OK here anyway, guess I lose at board wars)
I understand that adding summon to Traveler probably might not be a useful change when all the ramifications are considered, if for no other reason that your Evac bot example (those the Belgosch summon seems pretty slow for Evacing) and most groups would want a healer of some kind around anyway. However, since I something drag a char around just to do those things (and buff) I offered a suggested way to eliminate the need (and the racial advantage you get from running a Vamp). The summon could be even slower than Belgosch on an even longer timer (10 min?) and still be useful to bring a friend back after a sloppy PvE death rather than having to run all.
As for the rest (adding Send to Runegate to all Runemasters, Open Gate scrolls, opening Traveler to all characters), opening up the full gate system would remove one more reason to drag a bot around.
Doing all that and adding a weak/slow summon to Traveler would open up travel while still giving characters a reason to apply Traveler.

I really like the gate scroll ideas and support it. Right now I think traveller is the rune you put on your buff bot. This would give people who don't want to make a bot the ability to get around.
P.S. RoC/Oblivion are easy to get to as they've put gates in the freeholds that you can teleport to.

i really dont have any problems in getting around, at least on vindi.
Mourning can be a pain depending because of the map, but at least there i can get a summon from anyone.
Tree teleporting made things so much easier.

Different maps are easier to get around on. Vorringia (Test, Vindication) is the best designed in our opinion. What if all maps were Vorringia?

Mourning was easy to move around on until they started baning open trees. I personally like some places being hard to get to, those are the places I like to live.
I'd just like to reitteriate, traveller scrolls seem like a good idea to me. Traveller is just one more thing that gets throw on buff bots. Making scrolls that lets anyone travel. It doesn't over power anything (maybe affect the way people move siege forces, but I kind of doubt it) and levels the field a bit for the people who don't want to/can't run a bot to move them around the world.
Maybe a few people will complain "great, thanks for shutting down my travel agency", but really, it just means the people that have it applied have a few more trains they can refine off and use for something that makes them more PvP viable.

I really like both these ideas. For some flavor, especially on new servers, make the runemaster and sages have to be at least r3 before you can send to runegate or make the scrolls.

If this means wiping Mourning of all the duped items and FC ********e unbalanced gear, then go for it.

i like the mourning mapset... i found the others a pain to get around on. i like the traveller scrolls. not to big on the summons... it will allow attackers at mines and banes to chain a whole group plus of combat toons in just a couple of mine... making an almost consant flood of attackers.
