Attack of the Merchants of Slight Annoyance!

So I just rented a hut/merchant on test, filled it to the brim with stuff people ***** about not having access to, then I come to find out it will only show like a quarter of the actual inventory. Why is that. I can view the entire inventory when I pull up the "manage" menu... why shouldn't the consumers see my full list? Just really annoying is all. I know it's been this way forever, but I've obviously never cared because it didn't effect me. And NOW it's all about me me me! Seriously though, is there a reason behind this? I spent a long time filling and pricing, I'd hate to have to do it another time because I have to rent another hut or 2 to show all my stoofs.

They show about 100 or so if I remember right.

Yeah, I've heard different numbers... like it holds 200 and shows 100

I imagine the cap is set to limit lag. When you open the merchant it has to send all the contents in one batch. The larger the batch, the more it makes the server groan.

ARGH! And it's showing all the crappiest stuff too! It's mostly showing the uber noob gear I put on for all the complainers and it doesn't show the resource gear or xpac resources.... BLECH! Man, this is bad for business.

From my experience I believe if you have more then 100 items on the hut. The game will selectively hide ones that are duplicates.

For example if you have 2 Lapis of Power ammys one will remain hidden until the first one is purchased. This only happens if you are past 100 items.

lemme check that out... Nope. Negatory. All the crappy dulpicates are there and the crafted sword and xpac resources aren't :(

BTW Murray, I wouldn't mind that at all, I'd actually prefer it than anything else (save the showing of ALL inventory items)

Ya, it's been like this forever, and the only thing that can be done about it is just dealing with it. Sorry man, but thanks for buying a hut from my city :P lol!

Everything should be in there, just not displayed. Thats something we changed long ago; on the order of years ago. Try taking out some of the stuff and see if the rest is displayed.

Why would you want to put hundreds of items on a single merchant anyway?
